Indiekraf.com-Pandemi Covid-19 yang masih belum selesai hingga saat ini memang memberi banyak dampak yang kurang baik bagi setiap orang, namun dibalik itu semua, sebenarnya ada dampak positif yang bisa diambil, peluang positif dari pandemi covid-19 inipun diambil oleh dua siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan PGRI 3 kota Malang yakni Andre Edua siswa kelas XII Elektronika Industri dan Muhammad Zainal Efendi siswa kelas XII Audio Video dengan menciptakan smart wastafel.

Pemerintah sendiri telah mencanangkan 3 program nasional yang wajib dipatuhi oleh setiap warga selama pandemi ini yakni mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak serta memakai masker. Dari 3 program tersebut, dua siswa berbakat itu mengambil program mencuci tangan, hingga kemudian mereka menciptakan smart wastafel.

Menurut Andre Edua proses penciptaan smart wastafel ini, memerlukan beberapa kali riset, dan banyak menemui kendala, karena alat tersebut benar benar baru ia ciptakan. Kurang lebih 3 minggu, waktu yang diperlukan untuk proses penciptaan smart wastafel itu.

Sistem kerja dari smart wastafel ini yakni tanpa campur tangan manusia. Dilengkapi dengan ragam sensor mulai sensor sabun cuci tangan, sensor air, sensor pengering hingga sensor cek suhu tubuh.

Smart wastafel ini juga dapat menampilkan berbagai informasi terkait Covid-19. Mulai dari jumlah kasus positif Covid-19.

“Kendala utamanya proses pembuatan ini adalah kita belajar dari awal dan kita harus riset apalagi disektor programing kita juga perlu belajar lagi,” kata Andre Edua.

Sementara itu guru pembimbing SMK PGRI 3 Ahmad Mursid menuturkan, jika smart wastafel dipilih karena selama ini wastafel hanya diperuntukkan untuk cuci tangan saja, namun untuk sabun, pengering hingga deteksi suhu tubuh belum banyak diciptakan. apalagi ada informasi seputar covid di wastafel tersebut.

“Selama ini kan kita tahu wastafel itu lebih sering digunakan hanya untuk cuci tangan saja, oleh karenanya kita mencoba kembangkan agar nantinya wastafel itu bisa keluar sabun sendiri, air sendiri dan juga pengering sendiri. selain itu jugakitatambahkan pendeteksi suhu tubuh serta informasi seputar covid-19,” ujar Ahmad Mursid sebagai guru pembimbing.
